I have been driving a lot of washboarded crap roads here in Arizona for work and my Eibachs aren't cutting it at all (literally destroying my truck) so I'd like to take advantage of black friday and get something a little better. The 6112/5160, Dobinsons and Ironman Foam Cell shocks are where my budget is I cannot afford a tuned setup or foxes with clickers and that sort of thing. So which of these has the softest offroad ride quality for extended washboard/gravel trips?

Those are all solid choices. I have the IM foam cells and have a review post, if you check out threads I’ve made. That said, the current price is kinda up there and I think you could get with @memario1214 for the 6112/5160 set up for half the price. Though you’d still need leafs.

I like my IM but they are a little stiff. They are maintenance free though and less likely to leak since there are not pressurized with nitrogen. They also don’t get hot/fade. If I had a choice I’d buy them again over the others.

Depends on the type of washboard.

As much as I love the 6112s, they do alright if the washboard hits them just right. But it's a digressive shock, so the slower and smaller the impact, the harder they hit.

I've done washboard at 50 mph, and it was smooth as silk. I've done different roads at 30, and it rattled teeth.

The good news is that it never gets hot, ever. So even on the bone jarring crap, they are as consistent on mile 50 as mile 1.

If you're really on washboard on the daily, get yourself a good linear shock. Digressives are for weekend trail riders.

Thinking more, I did want to add that there are really only 3 spring options for the Foam Cells. The lightest being 720# rate springs. Though the TRD Off road are also that same rate. With no weight the 820# springs were way too stiff for me when paired with E rated tires. I ended up buying and installing the 720# springs and have been pretty happy.
Due to the spring seat, King, Fox, Icon and a few others will not work directly but I think the new Eibach springs made for the TRD Pro fox struts will but I’m waiting for more details.
You can adjust the foam cells on the truck as well. I also have Sumo Super spring front bump stops and Timbren Active Off road stops paired with the U bolt flip kit in the back.
Here is the big thread of the IM https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/ironman-4x4-foam-cell-pro.427407/
