Good affordable impact wrench

@RushT i mean if i dont need it right away they deliver a big box of stuff on Thursday. They also give me credits for choosing Amazon day that i use for buying movies on prime. For free basically.

Battery Powered...for remote work? Dewalt 20V Impact and Screw Guns...Milwaukee 1/4" ratchet. IR Pneumatic is still preferred though

 

Not inexpensive but I’ve had a Matco 18v that is almost 8 years old and still puts in work. Time value of the money spent now puts it in the inexpensive realm I suppose.

Did want to mention the m12 stubby and right angle 3/8 impact are bad ass bits of equipment that get a ton of use in my garage. Solid deals on them right now as well, buy tool get a battery.

 

I'm sold on cordless electric, but if you are keeping this in the house, you might want to look into air tools. Last forever, work well and fast, and maybe you are considering a compressor? Now's the time.

Wow! You can’t get a much better deal than that. I think my Dewalt was $250 with no battery.

 

i like rigid. was some of the first tools when i started in the trades. absolutely no complaints about the tools that i had.

but their tool options are limited. it really depends on what you're doing, but that was how i ended up finally selling off the rigid stuff and going milwaukee. but it was painful to make the switch at that point.

it started i just needed a drill. then i needed a sawzall. then i needed a circular saw. rigid had me covered. but then the lugging around a large 18v drill all day became a hassle. rigid doesn't sell a smaller 12v drill... and then there came the specialty tools like the framing nailer, oscillating tool(rigid didn't offer one at first), grinder, sds hammer drill, or band saw.. and now weed whacker, blower, and lawn mower...

it's nice to have the same batteries for everything. makes it easier to jump from project to project.

 

Whats good enough for just removing tires? Is the 3/8 enough?

 

The 3/8 Milwaukee is as long as the nuts were properly installed and not cross threaded.

If they got cross threaded, well then you need a lot more power to break the stud.

 

Not quite as powerful as the Milwaukee, but definitely better quality & better batteries. The Milwaukee can be a bit fragile, if you drop it. You can drop the Makita every damn day and it will continue to work.

Pin Detent or Bullnose?

 

Spring clip. Pin detents suck.

 

Depends/varies… I had some spring clip that were worse than the pin detent.

 

Picked up this 1/2 incher, whamma jamma yesterday and was not even looking for one. was on sale for half off normal price.

I'm not a mechanic and don't play one on TV, but I have a ton of Ryobi tools and they work fine for general household stuff. I can't justify $$ for the nicer brands because I really wouldn't use them enough to get ROI. Bought the new model, 1/2" brushless, Ryobi impact at HD for about $150 last year. So far, used it to put the TRD skid on. It was quite helpful and worked great. Back in the day, I did have one of the Makita, thin battery, power drill/drivers, mostly to drive screws into underlayment.
