Bed mounted winch ideas for pulling up heavy stuff?

    I’d build a structure mounted to the two front most bed mounts and have a winch plate welded to the top. Have it triangulated to counteract the winch force and it could be removed with a simple lynch pin or on of those QD tube clamps.

    Maybe I'm not understanding....the only way I've ever loaded a bike into a truck was to push it. Sometimes with the help of a buddy, sometimes with a running start.

    How do you typically get it up the ramp? If it rolls, a simple bridle between the front tie downs and a pulley (maybe doubled up)...one person to pull on the rope and one to hold the bike up. Or get one of these a remote and you walk the bike up while it pulls.

    The existing tie downs are plenty stout to handle the relatively low force required to pull a rolling bike up a ramp.


    If you're dragging it up on it's side, that's a different story. But at that point, you'll probably have all the help you need if you've managed to wad it up that bad.
