Coolant Question 3.4L

    I just drained and refilled my radiator with the Toyota 50/50 Super Long Life Coolant. I did not flush the system- just a simple drain and refill. I did drain the entire system (radiator and engine block drain plugs).

    After refilling the radiator and reservoir and driving about 50 miles I noticed the reservoir tank is completely empty. Is it normal for this to happen? I wouldn't think air bubbles in the system would consume that much coolant.

    No noticeable leaks or puddles.

    Just want to make sure this is normal and if others have experience.

    If you didn’t burp the system it’s normal,
    The heater lines are higher than the radiator cap so even if you toppled off the radiator you will not be filling those lines .
    Refill the reservoir tank and keep an eye on it

    My radiator was busted at the seams. I bought a Duralast radiator from AutoZone and did the swap yesterday. All seems to be good now. The Duralast radiator fit perfectly and is almost identical to the OEM one.

    @Area51Runner do you have a link to the Service Manual you could share? I've looked on Ebay/Amazon and the hardback is outrageously expensive.

    I'm going to tackle a full transmission service next. Oil Pan, filter, and all.
