I have a check engine light on. The display says there is an electronic control issue with the throttle, transmission or engine. There was one other thread on here that shows this exact issue but it didn’t seem like many people were familiar. Conveniently for me, the check engine light came on yesterday and I’m working out of town for the week with a rental car. Dropped it off at the dealer so I’ll put an update on here when they diagnose/fix it. In the meantime, if anyone has any input, feel free to respond. Quick Google search turns up lots of RAV4’s with this exact error message. Seems like different resolutions with then. I have to say, it’s a little aggravating because I had 1 check engine light after the next on every vehicle I ever owned (ford, dodge, Chevy, gmc) until I started buying Toyotas. Now this. Hopefully it’ll be a fluke.

saw something similar in another post this week - same model year too, I think. Thought it was the SVS - or that is what the post said the dealer found to be the issue. Anyway GL.

I’m not sure how this will show up but I figured I’d update. Dealer called today and said it was the thermostat and housing. Hopefully it’s a done deal.
