    how are y'all cleaning?

just vacuumed my bedrug. Spilled some coolant on it a while ago
I really don't want to deal with unbolting it to take out, haul to a car wash to spray, and find spot to air dry

just so I can "pretend" to clean my shell underneath which was already cleaned before, doesn't have a problem with water, and will not actually fit DIY pressure washer + scrub brush at a stall because I have a shell

am thinking of renting a carpet cleaner tool, wetvac whatever it's called
hopefully has a handheld attachment extension
like what WalMart etc. might rent

has anyone done such a thing successfully to clean their bedrug?
Can it also be used to clean the cab?
My interior is definitely showing it's age and could use a deep clean given it hasn't had one
and if I rent the equipment for $30 to do the bedrug, might as well do the truck...

Yes, , even with a cab you can pressure wash, just leave the window and tailgate open for a while on a nice day. Done it on my 1st gen and my 3rd gen. As for wet vac, sure, that’ll work, and it’ll smell once for a while…till you throw the next smelly thing in there :).

Honestly probably gonna try this thing I found from Home Depot tool rental for the cab and bedrug, more portable than a big hand cart unit
    $30 per day
and they sell HDX cleaning concentrate for cheap

coolant spill in the bedrug was a mistake made when moving with a jug not fully secured nor Teflon taped around the lid threads to make spillproof

Hey John, I have a original 6' Bedrug in like-new condition that I could let go for the right price. It costs about 700 for a Rhinoliner coating where I'm at, so if I could get close to that price I'd consider it a swap so to speak. I'm sure this is pricier than you want to pay, but figured I'd throw out the offer just in case. The rug is super clean and has no rips or tears. It has corrugated foam that lines up with the corrugations in the bed to make a flat floor. I think I have a different design than some others in this thread, all my carpet and foam only weigh about 15lbs. Also the side panels are connected to the floor/tailgate pad with zippers so they can be removed separately. This makes cleaning and storing a breeze because all sections can lay flat. I am only considering selling because I'm in the middle of a house renovation and have been using the bed for hauling materials more than camping... so the bedrug is just sitting unused in my garage right now and a Rhinolining would far more handy.

I just scored a bedrug locally, but it was also super dirty. I pressure washed it first and I thought it was clean, but realized that it was still full of dirt after installing it. What I started doing was sticking an orbital sander on it to vibrate all the dust out and vacuum it at the same time. It's pretty amazing at how much will come out. You can do the same thing with the carpet in your cab.

@Wyoming I know it's 6 months later but if you're still trying to sell I would be interested. I'm out near San Francisco, where are you located?

Dose anyone know what the sides on the original bed rug are made with, is there a wood or plastic on the sides to help them keep there shape?

The Bedrug in my '94 is 24 years old and still looks great. Granted, it's under a tonneau but still, it's a good investment.

Nope, just carpet backing/foam that is less thick than the bottom. The official/original install was to hold the sides to the bed with Velcro.

I may be getting rid of mine when I swap in a bedslide. I removed the tailgate piece (because it was falling apart) and I cut 4 slots in the bottom to allow my bed floor anchors to come through. I probably won't pull it until I get a bedslide, but feel free to PM me if you're interested.
