The ONLY stressful part about camping there.

"is someone going to be in one of the two good spots?"

Not sure if anyone is interested but I’ll be heading up to somewhere in Tahoe NF for Christmas trees early on sunday (probably leaving the sac area around 6 am). If you want to join, let me know

It’s fun. Just wish we went a little earlier so we had day light. Can’t see the trees while you are driving.

It might not be the most secluded spot on the lake, but it is the one with the best views.

The little lady got to see snow for the first time. It was cold enough overnight that I got her into my bivy sack with me.

I was honestly surprised that @71tattooguy, @silvertep, and I were able to make it as far up the trail as we did. We got maybe 500 yards past the paved campground (out of frame to the right) before the snow got up to the frame rails and my truck couldn't bash through any further. Too bad, because I think that we'd likely have been able to make it to the top of the trail if we'd if we'd gotten another couple hundred yards and out of the shade.

Gotta say that Riley absolutely hated the RTT. He was a restless sleeper for sure. Kimo? Sleeps in (mostly) the same place all night--excellent heating quality. Even better than @Fernando :D :D :D
