It's been awhile, but now that I think about it, a week isn't enough for the swelling to go away.
The fact that it doesn't hurt is encouraging.

Some may say I shouldn't be giving advice on this... and they'd be right.
I'm just saying, and only you can decide.
But yeah, money is a consideration.

I think it's a little less than that. It's a 70/30 plan and the deductible is not too hateful. I'll probably bump it up to 80/20 when I get older.

The lack of pain is very encouraging. If it doesn't make progress or gets worse, I plan to go have it looked at, but I'm hopeful I can save some by treating it real nice and giving it time to recover.

 

That's what I'd do, given how you've described it.

But I had no medical insurance for most of my life, or anyway, just catastrophic medical.

I would give it another week. That’s probably what they will tell you after you spend the money. The fact that you can bend it and put weight on it says a lot. Joints don’t heal overnight. I’m no doctor though, but I have hurt a few joints before.
