Trd Pro Hood Scoop Paint

Does anyone know if the hood scoop on the 2022 Tacoma trd pro is painted black or is that just the plastic finish? If I order a scoop it comes black, unpainted. It says finish is L/Paint. Just trying to figure out if it is painted before installing. Thanks

 

I believe the stock scoop on the pros is unpainted black plastic.

I ordered unpainted scoop, black) off eBay (Dr Wankel) "OEM"... turns out it was actually painted "midnight black"(despite listing saying unpainted - he's the dominate OEM scoop seller on eBay) , metal flake and everything. I did NOT want that, as I was having the matte black decal on the hood bulge as well. The reflective glossy black scoop defeated the purpose. When I finally realized what was going on, he slow boated any response. As in no response - finally, he answered after I posted negative feedback. Said, "I'll look around for one unpainted" - that was last I heard from him. Meanwhile, I ordered 3M matte black wrap and wrapped the painted scoop myself. I did a good job on it, but it was royal pain in the ass tucking it under on those curves etc. I've been too lazy to really pursue that eBay seller and his lack of attentiveness and B.S. listing, like I should.

 

Its a smoother plastic than the flares. I think its either painted or wrapped.

 

Yes, not textured, but I believe it's "raw" plastic on the pros.
