I have noticed for some time now a chirping or squeaking noise coming from either my drive belts or pulleys. The noise has gotten bad enough in recent weeks that I’ve decided to look into the issue further. Occasionally when weather conditions are very wet and windy I can hear a screetching noise coming from the belts and I’ve also noticed the belts will slip after car washes until the water dries up but the squeaking persists. I noticed that one of the main pulleys off the front of engine that powers my alternator is bent at the lip on the outer edge of the pulley which prevents the belt from laying flush to the pulley. For context I hit a deer about two years ago and had my insurance company complete the repair. The deer smashed in the radiator and fan into the front of the block (which would explain the damaged pulley) and it seems like they replaced the belts but left the original pulleys. My guess is that the pulleys are the source of the chirping noise and need to be replaced seeing as the belts have less than 20k miles on them. If anyone has input on this issue and or possible solutions to the noise I would appreciate any and all advise. I apologize if I haven’t explained the issue very well and I am happy to provide any needed clarification. upload_2022-11-26_10-41-15.jpg

Link didn't work for me. Try doing a search for idler pulley noise. It may be what your describing.

It sounds like the harmonic balancer might be going bad.....
Mine wobbled so much in the end.....it cracked the inside of the timing cover where the oil pump gear spins......

You need to do a video revving up and down under load.....

The outer two pulleys are bolted to the first.....those bolts should be checked before anything....4 bolts....

And that link...you posted...is not a link.....its a file in your phone messages......
actually an attachment to a file stream in messages.....

Easiest way is to upload that to you-tube.....and then post a link to that u-tube video here...

Not saying this is your problem, but I chased a (dry bearing) type of noise for nearly two years before finally replacing the fan bracket on my 5VZ Tacoma. It would be quiet upon start up, but as soon as the engine warmed up, there it was. It turned out to be the fan bracket bearing. Once the bracket was removed, I could see where the bracket’s bearing was throwing grease on the back side of the bracket.
