what are the wire colors ?

Black 4 pin plugs are quite common

ABS Brakes also might sit in that area.

Rear ABS only? I've never heard of such thing. Also don't see an ABS pump in your pic.

2002 base models had rear abs only, 4 wheel abs had not become standard yet.

ABS or Cruise. I know i have a connector tucked away - I have CC but not ABS

Cruise goes on those two threaded holes on the fender on the bottom of your pic so I'm 99% that's what it is.

You don't even have an ABS pump though, it would have been a bit behind your hand in the picture. That plug you're holding is for factory cruise control, I bet you have a Rostra aftermarket cruise control in your truck instead.

First time I have ever heard of this. Source?

Rear only ABS, especially with drums on the rear makes no sense to me whatsoever. I've also never heard of cars/trucks having ABS only in the rear or only in the front, usually incorporated all 4 wheels. Have heard of newer motorcycles having ABS in the front only though.

I think The OP is thinking The LSPV is some sort of ABS .

In theory it does limit the rear brakes if it still works.

Old cars, think mid to late 80s and cheap cars into the early 90s had rear only ABS to control oversteer situations. But Tacomas were all or nothing, you got 4 wheel ABS or you got no ABS.

Interesting, I've still never heard of this and I used to work at a junkyard. But I only dealt with domestic cars though for those years. I worked on a lot of 90s imports, if they had such systems I had no idea.

Lotta GM stuff from the 80s and 90s was this way, pick an old GM car MotorWeek video on YouTube and I bet they'll mention how many wheels the ABS functions on. That's the only way I know about it.

Never on any Trucks I ever worked on Chevy . Ford or Dodge since the seventies Plus the Toyota 4x4`s since the early eighties in the USA

    Till all wheel ABS started.

Thinking about it, it was prob. front only since the BPLvalve would be the rear.
edit: I know my yr. (2000) was just 4 whl. optional. Thinking it was only the very earliest
