2018 Tacoma TRD Sport Paint Problem

Clear Coat and Black paint flaking off Top Hood and Door after less than 3 1/2 years. Toyota dealership says they will do nothing about it under warrenty (3 years on the pain warrenty).

Anyone else out there having the same problem on a 4 year old Tacoma??

Looks like a 20 year old truck thats been sitting outside the entire time.

Estimates to repair are a minimum of $4000.00 up to $6500.00.

 

Did you buy it new?

Where was the truck from, where do you live?

 

I'd be pissed. But for a repair quote of $4-6500... I'd have the whole thing coated in bed liner.

 

When did it start?

You might be the "black sheep" of the group, but don't worry.... They'll learn to accept you all the same.

 

Best thing you can do is call Toyota corporate and explain what is happening. Many white tacomas have a similar issue but a few other colors have popped up around here as well. Toyota helps some people and doesn't help others, it's frustrating, but opening up a case with them may help.

You're also going to have people commenting about how often you wax the truck. Ignore them, no 4-year-old vehicle should have paint issues regardless of wash and wax habits.

 

The sky is the limit. If you want someone to strip it and repaint the whole thing, it’ll be lot more than Ol Earl.
