Question regarding the OBD output. Is the transmission fluid & oil temps one of the outputs?
Several posts make me think so but I've seen others where the permanent sensors are installed.

I'm looking to upgrade the scanguageE purchased in 2015 when the truck was new to the II or III version to bring an 1800 gross U-Haul from the Pac NW back to Texas later this month. It does not appear the E version monitors transmission temps.

FWIW, towing that I have done is transporting my 4-wheeler a couple of times a year 60 miles or less. The trans temp hasn't been a concern. Now I've got the Cascades and Rockies to climb.

Thanks in advance for your response.

Yes. TF1 and TF2 you will need to program in yourself. Easy peesy just takes a few minutes and the codes are on their website. Trans temp 1 is leaving the pan and Trans Temp 2 is returning from the cooler. If you buy a new scan gauge the firmware will support these "X Gauges" as they're called. Once you have them programmed in it is just a matter of selecting the x gauges you programmed in your display.

TF2 looks a little funky because I snapped the flick as it was changing from 167 to 168.

Thx for all the replies. Bit the bullet and got a scan Guage III. I got a feel for the AT ranges going NW without a trailer.
The return trip to TX was uneventful. Tiger Pass, Snohomish and the hills on I-82 show a coolant temp up to 194, AT1 around 190 and AT2 around 194. Y the second day, temps were as stated above and the Rockies were non-existent. The gas mileage stunk, about 13.5
The switchback on I-84 was the biggest challenge, more so than the Rockies. Coolant up to 198, AT1 at 205 and AT2 at 220. Once at the top it was 5 miles before the tranny cooled down.
    Gross weight was about 6200.

I won’t leave home without my taco

Just did a 1,000 mile trip towing my trailer up the Mogollon Rim in AZ. Tough hills. Highest temp I saw on TF1 was 219. On flat ground it fluctuated between 185 and 195. Normal unloaded temps are around 180.
