But this is after the fact of all the other problems it’s been giving me. Put a tester on the battery and it’s fine.

The battery is fine, connection is good, wires to and from the battery are good. It’s not the battery.

Smells like a bad alternator - voltage at battery dropping while running - giving low power/stall/death. Click and no start.

Just 2 days ago - car will light up, click and no start. Battery's "fine" on tester but not enough cranking amps. New battery - it cooks off just fine. Starts.

Not saying yours is covered by the recall, matter of fact pretty sure the 16 wasn’t. All I’m saying is that based on the symptoms you are describing they mirror exactly what mine was doing when the fuel pump began to fail. It was quite obvious what was going on as soon as I got it home and plugged in my basic scan tool. It had multiple misfires along with a low fuel pressure code. I’d hook up a scan tool to it and see what it’s trying to tell you but I have a feeling I know what you are going to find.

Mine was replaced by the recall and now has been fine since. You may be on the hook for another fuel pump but it may solve your problem pending some simple diagnosing.

Yeah when my 3rd brake light was leaking they told me it wasn't on the recall, then later on it was on the recall, take it to the dealer and raise hell for the camshaft and fuel pump recall work.

Is your key fob battery dead?

I think you are describing 2 problems. Your original running issue, now a no start issue.

A bad fuel pump or crank sensor would not stop the engine from turning over.

The ECU would need to have at least a pending code for something related to no start. You need a better mechanic.

Another thing I just thought of is a loose or bad ground wire/blown fuse.

I don't think 2016 or 2017 were part of the fuel pump recall.

    Has the OP disappeared? :anonymous:
Do you think a new battery fixed it? :burp:

I don't see a battery causing it to die at intersections.

Maybe he found out he needed an alternator?

Right. But it seems like he has two separate issues... the battery likely being one of them.

Hasn't been on since Oct 20, so over a month.

Really disappointing when we don't learn resolution to the issues folks bring to the table. We just keep waiting and waiting, trying to learn new things...............

Yeah he joined on the 19th to ask his question. :help: Probably learned that he needed a new battery. Vanished into the ether on the 20th, never to be seen again . . . :curls:
