Tacoma SR 2.7L AT 2WD access cab 6 ft bed. Have 265/75 R16 A/T tires, factory gears 4.30, is there any advantage going to 4.56 or 4.88 gears? Not planning on putting any bigger tires than what i have now?

No. It doesn't sound like it's worthwhile for you, based on the specs you gave and the questions you asked.

    Oh look, another mod....

Why stop with that bright idea? Do a full V6 or V8 swap on your truck. Maybe add in a manual locker!

Imo for you are you tuned? Try that if not. For me I’m going to re gear to 4.88’s in the next few months. I’m not real heavy just full steel skids, sliders etc. on 33’s.

Skip the 4.88's and go right to 5.29's

Are you looking for more power? If so, just trade it in for a V6.

You will hit the speed limiter around 80ish. A tune can resolve that, improve throttle, and setup the proper shift points for the new gear ratio. In fact, the tune "might" help you avoid the cost if regearing depending on your specific needs.

Was the 265/75/16 stock? If not, what size was stock?

So you have increased the diameter roughly 4% so a gear ratio roughly 4% lower would be a 4.46. Closest ratio would be 4.56. How many miles on your truck, how do you intend to use it, how does it drive? I could go on with questions but if it was me. I would wait till it made sense based on mileage/wear on the stock gears. Then I would go 4:56 keep things closer to stock or 4:88 if I wanted a little more off the line but at the cost of higher RPMs on the freeway. Just wait until you need to then just do 4:56.
