20 years ago, I was into waterfowl hunting.
Around here, that means Giant Canadas (resident non-migratory) and Mallards.
One farmer would only let me shoot 2 geese (he didn't have many at the time).
Ten years later he was begging me to shoot as many as possible.

You need the dog to go into the water after them. Once they know they aren’t safe in the water, they move on. There are companies that specialize in their removal and that’s how they do it. They also use a kayak to get out there and stir them up. Remember, unlike your neighbors, geese can’t file harassment charges.
