I am looking into replacing my '95 Tacoma 4wd xtracab, auto,3rzfe, with a "low mileage" import engine. Does it matter if the replacement motor was originally an auto or manual? I know I need it to be a 1st gen 3rzfe (distributor). I have swapped engines before, but they have always been manual to manual. I appreciate any knowledge or tips anyone has regarding this issue. Thanks, Mike.

The engine itself doesnt matter as long as the wiring harness is for a manual. No auto related plugs on the engine itself. Obviously you need a flywheel instead of a flexplate for the back of it. If the engine is the same year range, the sensors should be the same auto or manual.
