What pan gasket is best. Autozone sells this. Why 2 pieces?

Toyota FIPG (black) would be my first idea. Less likely to leak than a paper gasket.

Is that the transmission oil pan gasket?
Toyota uses 2 different types or RTV.
One for motor oil, the other for transmission.

Either way, I’d do a gasket with a skim coat of RTV.

    No gasket, just sealant.

I had a bolt hole that rusted through and was leaking on my old oil pan. When I replaced it I used black rtv around the new pan instead of Toyotas much more expensive version. It’s been holding beautifully for the last several thousand miles FWIW.
