Would someone with a 2.7 non California emissions please measure your OEM cat? Maybe take a pic of front pipe with cat? I would be eternally grateful. I'm trying to determine the appropriate exhaust kit. Thanks

It's a 99, ext cab 2.7. I'm looking at the AFE stainless exhaust system but the cat in my truck probably isn't factory length.... I don't want any surprises, if I need to buy another cat I will if it means an easy bolt up installation...

I know all to well the pain of trying to mix and match exhaust systems.

I am almost sure it is by design at times .

    Happy Exhausting!!

So do you have the one cat version? My pic was a bad representation bc the PO cut out the downstream cat and welded pipe to it. I then took that out and did a full new exhaust from header to tailpipe in the pre-99 one cat configuration, just with a “test pipe” instead of a cat. All bolt up. I’d say if yours has the two cats, that exhaust you want should bolt right in, but if you have the one cat setup, it won’t work. You’d need a longer piece to mate up with your cat.

Interesting thing is all those flanges are not universal....
not in hole width.....or in their orientation....
    just a heads up....

Mine didnt work out as planned....

At least keeping the flange on one side......gave a lot to tack weld to....

This is what im looking at....
yeah, one cat. Fed emissions but the one in there is roughly 2' with the flanges, It's not the 16-18" most look like... I know it isn't right because the hangers didn't line up, but I didn't want to return it, I had to weld rebar to lengthen them to reach the places they needed to go. NO vendors or at AFE will take the time to lay it on floor and measure it for me. I had asked around here if someone had it but heard nothing I imagine I will buy it and see what I need...
