I have a 2022 Tacoma SR, V6, 4X4 with no fog lights. I have read the posts about how to add the switch depending whether truck is pre-wired for fog lights, etc. I don't want to add the fog light switch to the steering column and go through all that. If I buy the harness that plugs into the back of the lights, anybody know how to wire the lights to a standalone switch? I would just like to add a toggle switch under the dash.

Is your truck wired for fogs at all? Are the lines tucked up where the fogs would be/empty slot in the fuse box etc? Or are you looking to run all the wiring and everything on your own?

Best to wire that circuit to a relay and have a fused control circuit to your switch, even if you're looking at low draw LED lamps.

Wiring fogs on a stand alone switch is pretty straight forward. But adding the switch to the steering wheel is super easy. I was a little nervous before I did it, but it was much easier than I thought. Took like 10 minutes. Was so quick, the wife didn’t even have time to come out and shake her head at me :D If you are prewired, it makes the whole process super easy. If you aren’t prewired, you can still add the stalk switch and use it to control a relay. Is all the stalk switch does is make a circuit to ground, so it’s easy enough to use it if you are not prewired.

You can also add a FJ style switch to the dash.
