Im sorry I should have mentioned Clarence Clemmons sax solo when I mentioned Bruce Springsteen. Your right sometimes he does sound like he took one in the nuts.

I have said it before and I will say it again...

The two worst Christmas songs in my opinion are Paul McCartney's "Wonderful Christmastime" and Madonna's version of "Santa Baby"...

The original Eartha Kitt version of "Santa Baby" is not my favorite Christmas song by any stretch of the imagination, but it is far better than any remake!

And I do not really give a shit what people think; Grandma Run Over By a Reindeer is one of my favorite songs, solely because of childhood memories...

I first heard that song on the radio in my dad's 1996 Nissan Pathfinder just before Christmas in 1997; I was in Boy Scouts at the time, and my troop had been attending some sort of holiday function at a nursing home. My dad was stationed at Moffett Field from 1996 to 1998, so we were still living in California at this time. We were living in a part of California where not only was snow nonexistent in the winter, but temperatures in the 60s in December were the norm. We had only moved away from Pennsylvania a year and a half earlier, and I missed having real seasons. My dad was driving, my mom was riding shotgun, and I was in the backseat. The Pathfinder had a CD player (it was the first vehicle my parents ever owned with a factory CD player), but I'm pretty sure one of my parents was channel surfing and came across the song on the radio. This was Northern California, maybe an hour out of San Francisco, so I'm guessing it was a station out of San Francisco or possibly San Jose. Anyway, my mom stumbled onto this song and said she she thought I'd like it, and turned up the radio. This moment is special to me because it was one of those times we are all in the car as a family during the holidays; I've had a driver's license for almost 12 years, and the Tacoma has been legally mine for just over six years. Needless to say, I am pretty self sufficient with regards to getting myself places, so it is very rare for us to all be in one vehicle as a family.

The other reason I love this song because at the very end, a man says "Merry Christmas". This man sounds a lot like my late grandpa, who died in 2017.

Not a bad song in my opinion...
