Just ordered the full kit and plan to install on the passenger side. Has anyone come up with a bracket or shim. As I said I just ordered but I can see it not being the tightest/strongest mount. I don’t have a 3d printer or access to one.

Hi we use our outlet 4-5 times a week and it has never pulled out. We've sold well over a 150 now with only a few having a wiggle concern. Which is why after some testing our shim didn't feel necessary. If you are wanting extra hold for peace of mind we recommend just using a small bubble of caulk on either side clip after install through the mounting hole. This is a removable solution, but if you want to go with a larger sturdier mount bracket some DIY guys have ordered the 4Runner OEM Outlet box that the OEM Power Outlet snaps into (OEM Part # 8553635020): https://parts.lakelandtoyota.com/p/...l-BEZEL--POWER-OUTLET/4104019/8553635020.html

Looks like this image below, but it's just the trim panel you then need to cut a bigger hole and cap the cigarette outlet or add one or a USB charger in that second hole location.

Thanks for the reply. Ill just install as shown on your video before I go a different route. I got a shipping notice already and it should be here early next week. If I have any issues I will shout out.

Got the kit over the weekend. Fast shipping but life had other plans. Got it installed today. Had it in and working before I finished my can of Monster. Everything came out easy and went back together easily. Watched your install video and one from Classy Taco. The hardest part was getting the plug to fit. Didn’t want to take off too much so went slow. A little here and a little there. Used an exacto knife that I heated up and worked great. Have a little scratch on the plastic but it adds character. Thanks

Looks great! We appreciate the feedback and install notes. Our truck has some character marks in a few places now too

Mine is installed on a 22 off road. There were a few things in different locations or different positions but I was able to figure it out. Seemed to be a little tighter around the inverter but maybe that’s just my perspective. The plug that connected to the center console USB plug-in was definitely different but your video is enough information for proper install. Biggest hurdle is taking all of the crap out of your center console.

The harness looks to be in stock but the outlets are not. You could get a harness from Shaun and then get your own outlet from a local Toyota dealership

Put mine in yesterday. Really nice to have an outlet in the cab option. I put mine in the center console so it is accessible, but to me doesn't look out of place and could be mistaken for a factory option. :)
Centered it in the back and put it low enough to clear my drop in center console organizer.

Just put in the order for mine and still debating on where to mount the outlet, but definitely looking forward to be able to use extra power in the cab!

Thursday afternoon (2/9) or Friday (2/10). Just got notification of more outlets shipping today (usually arrive 1-2 days).

For anyone reading this later, we are working on a new direct supplier for an outlet and a 3.0 of this kit will be coming later this year with more consistent availability! Till then we'll keep supplying kits using the OEM outlet.

Looked at the site and see anything on compatibility with Runners...I have a ‘19 limited I’d like to mod like this...will it work?

Yes but your inverter is in the rear of the cargo area, whereas on the Tacoma it is under the front console. The kit is designed to add a new outlet by breaking off of the inverter, and thus the outlet harness is only 30" long to put a new outlet near the back seat or close to the shift knob. Depending where you'd want an extra outlet in your 4Runner you would need a pretty long extension.

I’ll contact you for more info...an additional all time outlet in the back will work for charging cameras, lights, drones etc...thanks

I'm planning on doing this with my 23 4Runner. My intent is to run a separate outlet in the center console. I haven't gotten around to doing it yet, but my plan is to use the kit and splice in the necessary length of wire - probably heavy duty 14ga speaker wire. Does that sound reasonable?

Use XL-series wire. The inverter is low amp AC. I designed it with 18 awg as that’s factory. Given the run you’re doing I’d say 16 is sufficient. It wouldn’t be all that hard to make a plug and play extension, but I just don’t have the connectors at the moment and am not taking one-off orders currently. You might try doing it yourself instead of splicing.

I'm going to try to go the custom extension route. Ordered some connectors, sleeve, wire, etc. Should be there this week and plan to tackle this next weekend at the same time I upgrade my sub in the cargo area.
