I’ve been waiting to see how they are going to. The courts struck down the good and substantial requirement, so MD had to drop it. I’d expect something that will make owning a firearm a PITA, like additional insurance, extra bullet tax or something.

 

That's probably the only reason it was passed to begin with.

They can't nix this since it's a supreme court decision. What they will most likely do is expand the list of places that restrict conceal carry. Just like NY is trying to do. So you'll still be able to get your carry permit but you won't be able to use it at a long lost of public places.

With all the recent shootings in MoCo, I can see this happening

 

The PA out of state takes about 10 minutes to get if you didnt know. Take a nice ride up to Bedford, walk right in the courthouse and show them a valid permit for any other state and they’ll give you a printed PA permit for $20

 

I believe MoCo has already put tighter restrictions on where you can and cannot carry. In my opinion the goal is to both make the list of restricted places so long that it is over burdensome to carry as well as make the rules overly complicated that people just give up on it. They already complicated it in 2012 with the approved handgun roster vs the list of banned long guns and the hql.

When I come home, I will not go anywhere south of Gaithersburg towards dc. Too bad REI is down in the yuppie oasis of Rockville. I’m gonna get my CC in SC but it stops at VA. Wonder if I can get a Maryland one after I give up my Maryland id

 

That's what I did, moved from Maryland to the 2nd Ammendment state WV. Recently WV eliminated the sales tax on guns & ammo to promote sales. You know that's not gonna happen in Maryland.

 

REI's are pretty much located in the affluent areas. The one in Timonium is about the same- yuppers buy the gear for the brand recognition for the most part. They need to be properly outfitted for the 20° days so that they don't freeze getting from the Volvo to the inside of the starbucks.

Then I brought it up in the Wyoming thread and that was the justification. Rich people vacation there and need stuff.

 

They just occasionally have good discounted stuff. Love reading why people returned items. “Wrong color” “just don’t like it”

I agree, 80% of the stuff that I get from REI has come from the garage sales. I did splurge last year when it was time to buy new hiking boots, and their very lenient return policy allowed me to return 2 pairs of boots before I got ones that I could live with.

I worked at the same job in Baltimore city for over 20years. I couldn't stand it anymore, I had to get out. Outrageous crime, high taxes, corrupt city government, traffic, people's rude attitudes ect...that city was sucking the life out of me. I went from Baltimore to living in seclusion up on a mountain. I no longer sit in traffic or at traffic lights. My commute to work here in WV was 40mins and only 3 stop signs the whole drive. In Baltimore I was surviving, now im living.
