Mine is a 10 but totally base. 2wd, single cab. I cannot believe this won't work for your truck

Yeah, there are several. However, none seen to dat go into much (if any) detail about the vehicle they are swapping stalks into.

Search YouTube for Lincoln Max n Co as he does a nice job 'splaining what he does (I copied him for teh Cruise Control switch add on) but he does not go into details anut part numbers base model details etc. either.

The "mechanics" are indeed quite simple. It is the electronics that controls whether such a swap will work or not. Some features may, like FORD Cruise, require a software adjustment after the hardware swap is complete. The parts range from about $50 to $180 before shipping (generally) and third-party start at about $130 before tax. Some places will NOT accept returns of electrical devices, those that do expect the customer to pay return shipping (Amazon exception but $180 for the part).

It appears that the assembly is all but identical albeit having several different part numbers from Toyota. This adds to the complexity of the decision as I don't know why there might be different part numbers for different years/models/packages for what is, essentially, the same part performing the same function. Again, don't want to own a stalk the fits your truck, but not mine!

From waht I've seen, there is NO NEED to remove the steering wheel. You only need to remove the plastic shroud pieces. So far, I only saw one video where the guy pulled the wheel. This guy: Lincoln Max n Co did not pull the wheel.

    STEERING COLUMN...

The steering column in my truck was removed, but the steering wheel never came off; I did not install the wiper stalk myself, but the steering wheel DID NOT come off. My mechanic did briefly remove the steering wheel when we were trying to install cruise control.

I had a base 2007 that I did it on, I can’t remember the part number but yes it was complete plug and play. Took about 25 min to do. Just look up YouTube videos, super easy

I literally just did this a few days ago, mine was on a 2015 Tacoma. I bought the part off of Amazon, said it was Toyota oem. Took about ten minutes, didn’t need to pull the steering wheel just the column shrouding.

an84652-04141 is what you will need to work in a 2007. There are 2 more part numbers that work but they are designed for 2011 and up I believe. They still plug in and play but the intermittent part on switch works in reverse. Meaning if you turn it up all the way, the wipers go slower instead of faster. But the 84652-04141 will fit and work correctly as designed. Might try Amazon or eBay first before paying $180 from dealer. It’s been a few years since I bought one but I believe they can be found for under $75.00

I agree with this. For my year, 2015, I found out the same part is used with the Camry on ebay. I paid much less since it was advertised for a Camry.

Mechanically, it is easy, I know how to do it (I did the Cruise upgrade). I am attempting to eliminate the risk of buying a Non-returnable part that will not work with a 2007 4cyl base auto like mine. I have seen the YouTube Videos - but they do not detail too much about the parts or link to the part used and some are not of a 2007 Tacoma.

    Thank you.

Do you recall if this part number is printed (or embossed, etc.) on the part itself? So, If I get one from a yard, I can check it before paying?

I have the 07 access cab. Ordered my stalk from eBay. Nothing to it. Just unscrew the top and bottom plastic. Unhook the old one and plug in the new one and put the plastic covers back on. Think I paid 75 bucks for mine . Took me about 20 minutes to do it. Steering wheel does not need to be removed

My 18 yr old son bought the switch on Ebay and installed himself after watching the you tube video. The same switch for a Prius fits the Tacoma. He said he paid $35 for it. He has a 2007 AC 4x4 base model. You'll be fine.
