Would I retreat trimming these brackets inside the switch panel cubby?

Hi all

title should say Regret and not Retreat

couldn’t find a post mentioning this so I thought I would ask if I am going to regret cutting out these brackets just inside the switch panel cubby to fit my new switch panel that allows for more Switches on the top row. The switches on the far too right and left won’t fit because of this bracket. I don’t know what they’re for. Just don’t want to regret taking my dremel and cutting it out

Probably have to leave that panel there when / if you sell.

 

I did and didn’t look back. It’s all behind plastic panels so if you reverted it to stock the buyer would have no way to know.

I used diagonals because I didn’t have a dremel and won’t cover the truck is plastic dust.

the plastic you remove doesn’t do anything

 

I did it and also did not look back. Easy trim with some tin snips or side cutters. I'd avoid using a rotary tool incase it bounces and clips that wire loom because that would suck.

after trimming back the bracket, everything is nice a snug. After some more lights I’ll look to redo this with an auxbeam

 

I just got switches and relays from ch4x4. Can do 2 switches in each slot with dual switches. I like the OEM look personally over some type of pod. I also don’t plan on installing stupid amounts of lights though

 

I went with the cali raised panel and switches in an OEM style. I’m really pleased.

Hello. I know This is an old thread, but where did you get your switch panel? I have the same factory buttons with the security and "view". Looking for this exact panel. Thank you in advance.
