Take the caps lock off, eh?

I've slept in below freezing temps in my Softopper. In all honesty, any topper is about as good as another unless you pile on extra insulation, which then starts to look goofy or get damaged from other uses.

IMHO, the big deal is managing the stuff you are in contact with. I sleep on the bed, no platform. So, bed mat, Thermarest pad if is it really cold, inflatable pad, and sleeping bag. With that, nothing seems to creep in from below. I'll toss a small down blanket over my feet in the bag and a wool blanket over the top of the bag and tuck it against the front wall to prevent the cold from creeping in there. Managing the temp of my feet seems to give me the best comfort. My ancient 20deg mummy sack does a good job for me up top. The colder it is, the more I draw the top closed.

Agree with tonered, the topper doesn't mean an much as the insulation below you and the sleeping bag.

Also, pack an empty Nalgene so you don't have to get out of your bag when the Zima wants to leave your body.

    Cheers!

I really need to get on the pee bottle train. It is always an hour long debate with myself when I could be catching some Zzs.
