Good evening TW, seems like I have been searching for months with no luck.

I’m looking for a roof rack that can support the weight of a tent. Three
Person would be nice. I also need a 40” light bar and light on noise. Any recommendations?

Prinsu is the most common. There are others like Uptop overland and victory 4x4.

I’ve been looking at Prisun an uptop. Can they support the weight?

is that a question? I would rather just buy. I’m tired of the lead times. Still waiting on sliders and rear bumper

I don't think I would put my RTT on my prinsu... have you considered a bed rack/crossbars?

however, prinsu does sell tent mounting feet for their racks and advertises that you can do it

For sure. I had two different RTTs on the Prinsu that was on my fiberglass cap. It was never the rack I worried about, but the cap. Many others put RTTs on them with no issues.
People do it all the time I've never heard of any issues in terms of weight.

I’ve heard/seen the same. I just don’t know what rack they went with

I have the Prinsu and can’t say it’s light on noise. At speeds of 60+ mph it sounds like the wind is blowing strong. During assembly the aluminum sides feel quite flimsy and only get strength through the crossbars.
In the meantime I have seen a few trucks with the Sherpa rack which looks sleeker on the roof line and uses a more heavy gage aluminum. Sound wise obviously I can’t tell if there is a difference.
Wish the wind deflector on the roof racks would be installed in a flatter angle to reduce drag and wind noise.

Do you have the noise trim on the front of the wind deflector? It made a difference for me with noise.

I have the UpTop alpha with a 38” lightbar. I don’t find it noisy at all, and it’s rock solid. I wouldn’t hesitate to put a tent on it.

I have the RCI Roof Rack. I've had it on for over a year now, no complaints.

Westcott gets my vote. Their stuff is top notch and their rack fits super low profile and is supposed to reduce noise. Also can have provisions for lighting setups. I can't find specs for its weight capacity but I'm sure they could help you out if you contact them.

I used three Front Runner load bars to hold our RTT. I called to place my order and they helped me out and gave a good price. I was still able to use the bed, and when the tent was on the load bars, it was nearly flush with the top of the cab. It didn't raise my overall height so I could keep the tent on and not worry about low garages, and it also didn't completely destroy my mpg's.

Either way, I'd strongly suggest getting bed stiffeners if you haven't already.

I have the prinsu with lowest wind panel setting and wind noise isn’t too bad . I added the Roam heavy duty mounts and those make some noise.
Sherpa is another rack and though note spendy, seem a little more beefy . they also have tons of options and such for mounting things to the rack .
