Because they turn off after I hit the lock button twice and I look way cooler when the headlights turn off as I'm walking away

Mine shut off after engine off and I open the door. Never let them time out yet so no help with that.

My dad swears by leaving them in auto; I hate that they stay on after I leave the truck. Still in the habit of turning them on and off manually from years of cars without this feature. If I can adjust for a time less than 5sec ill think about keeping them in Auto.

i like to shut everything down as well.

but i blame general laziness for what you're asking.

my shops gmc savana work van defaults to 'auto' on starting, with only the headlamps running, with no marker lights. i have to manually switch over every time i get in. it's really irritating. but all the other guys in the shop just leave it be. they get so used to it that they don't know how to turn on the headlights in the one older work van when they need to drive it.

There's nothing like doing "Functional Checks" on the operating system.

I do the same thing...walking away with great pride as I click the FOB. (I lock the doors initially by touching the driver's side front handle)

I got use to all types of vehicles in my military career because we had to sign off the 1800 which had the functional checks inspection sheet. If any issues arise, they look at the first person who signed off on the 1800.

Dumped the Tacoma, that's all it needed.
I leave mine on at all times and they shut off shortly after closing the doors.

My headlight on buzzer does not buzz either. It is kind of nice in my eyes.

Yes. So easy even I didn't feck it up. Other thing I changed on the first day was the auto door lock setting. Walking over to open the door and finding the damn taco had locked it's fool self was not going to fly.

Because I drive with my headlights on at all times. I like to be seen as much as possible, because the boomers, idiots on their phones, and snow birds seem to not be able to see at all. It just saves a tiny bit of time.

Where do you go to do this? I’m trying to figure it out. I miss my old Apple play. I can’t even figure out how to preset Sirius XM stations lol.

Select menu on your radio then select settings and look at the menus that you have to select from in one of the menus will be a selection for lights where you can change the timer or turn them completely off I believe.

if if I’ve changed my head unit, is there any other way to access the headlight timer, maybe through the OBD?

Techstream, Carista or dealer would do it. Although I thought with idatalink or maestro or whatever, you retained all the settings? That would be the way to go I’d think
