I bought what was advertised as Heavy Metal tapered 1" lift blocks on Amazon about 2 years ago. Measuring them showed about .80" at the front taper and 1.20" (corrected) at the rear of the taper, the center measured 1" exactly. I took them off over a year ago and tried AAL and took them off also. I recently tried to sell the blocks. I was advised by a potential buyer that Heavy Metal did not sell 1" tapered blocks but did sell 1.5" and 2" tapered blocks. These look exactly like the 1.5" tapered blocks from Heavy Metal. A web site visit confirmed it. I guess if you buy automotive parts on Amazon they may be counterfeit.
I just re-installed them today to counter the gen 3 TRD-OR front coil springs I recently installed which raised the front almost 1.5".
I'm guessing that I got something other than Heavy Metal blocks.

Is tapered better than non-tapered for just a 1-1.5" lift?

Tapered is supposed to help combat axle wrap and correct the driveline angles. Do you notice any shudders upon take off or around a certain speed?

Thats a lot of taper for such a small block. The taper is to help correct driveline angles. Usual rule of thumb is 1* for each inch of lift.

I just took them off and 20 MPH vibration is gone.
Guess I'm stuck with them as who want to buy a 1" block with that much taper? Must be for heavier duty springs than stock.

I have a 1.5" taper from Heavy Metal. I dont recall the exact measurements, but i think the center was a bit taller than 1.5" also.

I have no problems with vibrations.

Dang if these are only 1" with alot of taper that's what I need. I have a 5" leaf in the back but need a little more with taper for my BDS 6" lift.
