Check out the line of Hamilton Beach FlexBrew machines. I have a single in my office and a dual (drip/K-cup/single brewer) at the house, and as long as I run some descaler solution through the machine every 6 months or so - they're rock solid.

Plus I can run espresso roast ground coffee using the single-brew basket and clean it up really easy.

    The double:

We went through a Keurig a year for several years and switched to Hamilton Beach- the thing's a tank. Hard water, excessive use, it just keeps brewing!

When we first got a Keurig, we had problems. I was using tap water from our well, which has lots of minerals. The first two lasted less than a month each. I called and complained each time. The first time they sent me a replacement of the same model, free of charge. When it happened again so quickly, I really lit into the poor customer rep. She sent me an upgraded model, free of charge and informed me to use a water not so hard. We have a Culligan 4 filter drinking system under our sink. I started to use this and we have had that same Keurig form almost 5 years now, and we make at least 5 cups a day with it. Of course I change the filter monthly and occasionally clean it with vinegar.

Good afternoon, everyone. Happy Bday @KRAMERICA!

Yesterday I finally got the snow blower out, fixed the broken tension clamp that holds the fuel line to the gas tank ( kinda important) and checked the oil before start up. It was low, like 4 or 5 chugs from the gallon sized container of the straight 30W.. She fired up on the 2nd pull, the blade turned when engaged and it moved frontwards and backwards. It ran a bit rough with an occasional 'pop' from the muffler, maybe a burnt valve, I don't know. I will figure it out when it blows up.

Just got done with my home health care PT session . My knee felt very tight this morning and my PT was playing tug of war with leg trying to get it to bend . Now enjoying a cold gel pad around the knee to bring the swelling down

Yup, I’ve got the double with insulated carafe. Wish I had bought the glass one with hot plate, carafe has a weird top and isn’t as hot when brewed unless I ‘preheat’ the carafe.

Thank you all for the well wishes.:hattip: But please hold further applause until groundhogs day, for my actual birthday.

I'm not sure who I was confused with, but thanks anyway.
I delayed my departure, hoping to let the rain pass through, but no luck. I hit rain around Birmingham, and it drizzled off and on the rest of the way down. :annoyed:

Evening :hattip:folks, another Monday in the books. My wife and I love our coffee, we went down the fancy coffee/ machine road a few times. They never last, good simple machine, high quality pre ground coffee, good additives for weekend brew, we try to keep simple. Besides Bailey’s ain’t cheap :D
