Bigger Tires Less Gear Hunting?

    I put 265/75/16’s on my ‘20 SR 2.7 last week and it’s holding a lower gear(like a truck should)going up hills, previously it would stay in fifth or sixth til i mashed the gas pedal.
    It’s been doing it since I put the new tires on, not a one time thing.
    I caught myself go 80 mph up a slight grade today lol. I’m sure there is an explanation, just making a observation
