I am genuinely so curious what the rest of that bed side looks like. How could it be a 2015 unless heavily modified for 3rd gen taillights? The shapes of the tail lights are VERY different.

I am curious about it too. A 2015 with a heavily modified end or a 2017 with a touched up corner.

Ok guys I need some help. I’ve got a plug that I’m not sure where it goes. The right side goes to a module that controls the rear camera and I’d guess the parking assist but on left side ‍♂️ Everything is working so I’m thinking of taping it off. Maybe if goes to something I don’t have on this truck? It’s very possible that plug doesn’t come out that hole but I don’t see anywhere else it would plug to

So I did guess right, that is a 3rd gen (2016+) fender with a modified taillight corner. It was most likely was damaged, then repaired with body filler without using the tailgate's body line or even the opposite side as a reference.

Looks to be a damaged 10pin connector for the Blindspot monitor module, the same unit (square box) on the right side. There is one per side.

Interesting 2015 should be 1” lower on the bed. Also on if the sides look like 3rd gen that would be off.

Yup looks like it! Pretty interesting and hard to tell. Only hints are the tailgate lines and the lines by the tail light.

Although I swear I see some waviness up near the top of the panel.

Would have been nice to disclose that to OP. On a project like this I personally wouldn't be bothered by it unless the price didn't really reflect it or the repair itself wasn't really solid.

Good eye. Looks to be where the metal crumpled, pulled/popped back into shape, then body filler filled any imperfections.

Would have been cool if it was actually a 2nd gen fender.

Yup, one for each side of the bumper, so it would be two in total.

There should also be two cross traffic alert/parking sensors per side (4 total), one close to the Blindspot monitor and one close to the license plate.

Might want to grab a new 10pin male connector too. The one currently on your truck looks damaged, most likely from when the BSM module got yanked in the crash, pulling a portion of the connector with it.

I thought about that but it looks like a rather large harness and I can’t find anywhere to buy the connector to change out. My intention is to plug it in and zip tie it. It’s still got the rubber seal so it should be good against moisture

Ok fellas this is the end. I passed the inspection and now I'm just waiting for the title to come back. I learned that you can drive to the inspection and repairs instead of towing so a lot of the towing money was wasted (this is not true for every state). The inspection was straight fwd, he looked inside, under the hood, under the vehicle and popped off my door scuff plates to check the wiring I think. I never had to drive it, crank it or test the lights. Since i replaced a "major piece" (the frame) he put a new VIN number on it. I've learned a lot and it was pretty fun. If i do it again I think I can do it a lot cheaper. I'm putting the expenses in the attached files. Question, what do you guys think I could sell it for? It's a 2021 TRD 4x4 Sport with under 10k miles on it. Does anyone think I can get 34k? Initially that sounds low until you realize it doesn't have warranty anymore. Under that then I'm practically giving away my labor. I'm quite happy keeping it, I just think I could do it maybe 5k cheaper or possibly more, even better if I can find a flooded vehicle. Mechanic work I can do, it's body work that I lose money on. Got me some custom Clazzios ordered for it too :)

nice work, looks good, just keep it!
Some things reducing value significantly; lack of warranty, salvage title, most likely buyer can't get full coverage insurance, and can't get a vehicle loan. All of these are going to drive the resale down by a lot, and that's above the potential buyer's mind still wondering what the backstory is.

Not on a rebuild lol. I think it's cool you did it but it's definitely a labor of love and not money.

The rebuilt ones go for 26-30 where I live. Even with low miles 30+ is a hell of a stretch.

Congratulations! Nice job, I can't believe your skills, very excellent. Good luck what ever you decide to do with it, whether you drive it for 10 years, or sell it for a profit. If it were my truck I would maybe sell it for a profit then buy a new 2023 with full warranty, and 60,000 drive train warranty. Who knows, its hard to say what I would do, so many variables.

Thanks, I probably will. Actually State Farm will. My full coverage, same as I have on my new Rav, is only $60 extra a month!
