I’ve got a 03 Tacoma extended cab with the 3rz engine in it. I’ve rebuilt the motor in it and when I took off to test it realized I don’t have brakes. I’ve replaced almost every brake component from front calipers, pads, and rotors. As well as rear shoes, wheel cylinders, and hardware. I’ve also put a new lspv on it. It gets fluid out of every bleeder and no air. The pedal has about two inches of play before it feels like the brakes even engage and if you press it to the floor it will stop eventually but not enough where I would feel safe driving it. Don’t know what else to try before taking it to a shop. Thanks

While you were changing all these brake components did the master cylinder go dry? Do you have ABS? Double check that the brake booster vacuum line is hooked up?

I put a new master on and bench bled it before. I do have abs, and it does have a vacuum line to it.

I'd personally try a ton more bleeding with something like the Motiv Power bleeder if you weren't already using one. Just cycle the fluid through a few times. Maybe jack the rear of the truck up as high as you can :notsure:

Depending on how you went about your brake overhaul, you may have gotten air into the abs module, which is really hard to get out. The abs module has be to cycled via a special tool to bleed it.

I’ve tried vacuum bleeding through at least three big bottles of brake fluid with no air coming out I’ve got another bottle to try. I tried bleeding the abs module with my obd2 computer but it doesn’t work on these older trucks.
