Yeah, I would only get the 3 tons for working on our matrix and Honda Pilot. I have a set of 6 tons currently and they are perfect for our lifted GX and the 1Ton truck. Ideally I would get another set of 6Tons and a set of 3Tons.

Any experience with the Hercules 3/8" 12V Ratchet?

I bought the extended reach version and the motor brushes seem to put out more sparks than I am used to with brushed motors.

Should I Return/Replace or is it normal for these?

I also picked up the 5 drawer cart for the $219. Super excited about it.

I’d try to clean the brushes out first. Sometimes the contacts are dirty and that impedes performance as well. I find that to be the case with my portaband. It’s a 2 minute job to pull them and wipe them off with some alcohol. Maybe use compressed air in the vents too while the contact are out.

If you have 20 minutes, I’d give the pawl a once over. This was an issue with the older Pittsburgh jack stands (hence the recall a few years back) and was supposed to be corrected when they moved to Daytona but I’d still at least take look to make sure. I went over the “mod” in my thread, but not sure it it was ever discussed here.

They are on sale… I might take back the set of strongway stands I just bought for $50. I am impressed with the Daytona stands. AE8FB3E2-B204-45C3-8073-08FDFA7911FE.jpg

I have the 6 ton Daytona. I will never buy 3 ton stands again. I don't care about the capacity, but the extra height is great. I don't want to be at the highest setting of a stand just to reach the frame.

The 3 ton do have their place, though.

An example I used earlier was the 6 (or 12) ton to support the frame, but the 3 tons to support the rear axle when doing suspension work.

This, I got the 6 ton big red torin jack stands, and just bottomed out I was able to lift the 03 corolla enough to do the oil pan gasket with ease. Perfect for the truck too with only a bit of up instead of maxed out.

I don't have any cars, closest is my mom's Honda Passport, but she takes it to the dealer for everything.

When I had my Taco the 3 tons had to be pretty extended on the front frame supports. With the 6 ton it's maybe 1/2 way.

I now drive a Ram 1500 and it's even higher. The 6 tons worked great when I had it entirely on stands a few months ago.

For holding up my mower and such I still use the 3 tons as they are lighter to move around the shop, but I already have them would not buy again.

6-tons would have been too big.

Look at these sitting in the shop  (yes my shop has a dishwasher, we lived in it leading up to building the house). Stacked the 25% coupon they sent me with a 10% off cc promo. Got it down to $573. Got 10% off the rest of my $1k haul, lol. Merry Christmas to me.
