Right hand steer A340F transmission same as left hand steer?

    1986 Hilux Surf
    I have a 1989 Hilux Surf model E-YN130G-GKPGE with a 3Y engine (think the right hand version of the 4Runner). It's right hand steer and the transmission just pooped. Truck is in Guyana and I don't know and reliable rebuild shops. I live in the States and am considering acquiring one here, but can't find any info on if a swap works cause of the right hand left hand drive steer orientation? Any one know??
