    i want that job!
I actually watched the series "wild crimes" last weekend about crimes committed on national park territory and the NPS ISB (CSI types) I think I may have missed my calling there...

:hattip: I'm sure we'll be seeing them overhead for decades to come

would be cool if everyone got to sign their names somewhere on the fuselage before it gets covered up

the puke pouch is a night touch

    I failed to ask before:

Why is the ticket in the seat pouch from American Airlines and not Delta Airlines?

    Clear Prop
At one point, we were all primary students, understanding little, questioning even less, but placing complete faith in our instructor. Many of the little things necessary to get through the first few lessons before solo were done by rote, without a great deal of understanding. Such as ensuring anyone on the ground near the airplane was aware the prop was about to spin.

One instructor was working with a pre-solo student. Instead of using the phrase, "Clear prop!" before turning the key, the instructor had simply taught his pupil to use the word "Clear!," presumably shouted loudly enough that those inside the FBO could hear. Of course, primary students rarely fly in poor weather.

One day, preflight complete, the student reached for the key, looked outside the airplane, and shouted, "Cloudy!"

Why do so many pilots yell, "clear PROP", then .00018 milliseconds later turn the key, the prop is now spinning ... slicing up whomever was in the way.

Can you just take a couple of seconds to look around again and then turn the key? I taught at a field that routinely had families (read: kids) on the ramp. smh

[rant off concerning a very long-time pet peeve]

TBH I call clear when starting up my vehicle when I do a jiffy lube type oil change...and don't turn the key until I I hear a verbal affirmative...

I don't want no paperwork from a bloody prop spill...

Anyone who donated to Benny Hinn helped to fund his extravagant lifestyle in the name of religion. He'd arrive at the FBO with a small motorcade and depart for various places around the world. He finally got his flight route hidden on flight tracker.

Jump or loading trainer? I know a lot of old fuselages get used by aerial port crews for "loading practice and training," but considering Bragg I'd bet jump and deployment trainer. "We're gonna sit here for 14 straight hours without killing each other to simulate a deployment."
I've seen that thing more times that I ever wanted. Not impressed with why they have it.

Is that LGB?? If so there were 2 c-17 fuselages that were built for testing. One was inside building 41 and was used to test until destruction. As in pull up on the wing till it breaks. Should last till 150% of design load. The first time It broke at 131%. So they had to add some more structure to fix that issue. They also pressurized it until it blew open at one point.
The second fuselage (is what I think is pictured). That was used to see the durability of the fuselage. Those pads and straps were attached to actuators that pushed and pulled the fuselage to simulate flight. Then every 1000 hours or so they would do inspections to see where or what was fatiguing on the fuselage. From that info they would make maintenance inspection based on flight hours to check certain areas for fatigue.

edit: after looking at the pics. I’m positive that this was the durability test fuselage. Under the cockpit window on the right side you can see where they hooked up the hose they used to pressurize the fuselage during testing.

Airdog is correct below. Bragg was the company responsible for transporting test fuselage. If left by barge from Seal Beach Naval Weapons Station.

    You're on the money.

Here’s a pic of that fuselage when it was first being towed into the test structure. Blatantly stolen off a McDonnell Douglas employee Facebook page I’m part of. I was a Flight test mechanic for Douglas back in that time frame and worked out of bldg 41 where this testing took place.
