I automatically assume someone who says repository to me vs repo has no idea what they are talking about. Not ya'll btw, i'm talking about like an account person or project manager.

Most of the features come with trying to fully take advantage of Veeva's capabilities. Things like when a rep is at a Doctors office and the doc wants to know more about a specific topic we can automatically generate and send an email to the doc about the drug/product with different fragments, or personalize a presentation based on the types of patients the doc treats. But yeah a ton of time goes into flashy animation that adds zero value except to look pretty.

 

I think it's a funny design problem, right? Animations don't add a lot of value for people like us, but without them it seems like a lot of people aren't convinced that something important is happening hahaha

.it's like in outlook where it syncs automatically all the time silently but there's a refresh button or whatever so users feel like it's doing something

 

It also depends on the audience for us too. Like one of our clients is L'Oreal and the Dermatologists LOVE the flashy animation shit. Meanwhile the monster IVA I am working on for Jannsen/Xarelto is for Cardiologists and other doctors who just want charts, graphs and information as fast as physically possible so the entire redesign of the presentation was based on getting the information to the doctor as fast as physically possible with 0 animations.

 

In the old days, I remember reading about a new product in the Sunday paper that would be offered on Monday morning when the bank opened. Does anybody bother to give IT a heads-up? It wouldn't be a new secret offering if they did.

 

reading comments on articles about the Orion mission is such a blow to my faith in humanity. SO many people saying it's all fake because the moon looks distorted and "hurr durrr they forgot to add stars to the CGI video"....how, in this day and age, can so many people not understand the basic fundamentals of video/photography and lenses.

Idiocracy truly was a glimpse into the near future I swear.
