Question on Ordering

I'm eyeing a 2023 utility package 4x4. My dealer say that Toyota is only making them in white. Is that seriously a thing? I'm not sure if my dealer is trying to dissuade me since I'm looking at a bare bones and they wouldn't see much profit there.

I'd appreciate any other tips/suggestions from anyone with current purchasing / build experience. Love my 2001 but my old bones are making noises about wanting the ease of new (and not manual). But man do I hate the dealership nonsense.

Small edit: Now they are telling me that they can't get it without a bunch of dealer additions (connectivity, premium carpet, vehicle protection package, power tailgate lock).

 

They're BSing you. You can get it in diffrent colors.

Call 'em up and let them know they lost the sale after BSing you. Move on.

 

Try looking at trucks in other States, maybe in your area they only allocate them that way.

 

Thank you eurowner, and everyone else for the replies. I'm in the middle of OK so dealer options are thin. But I can see that the "white only" isn't true on a national level.

Edit: Confirmed. White only for my region (Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, and Mississippi).

 

That inventory spreadsheet linked above is quite handy… Found my 2023 Pro just the way I wanted it on there and had a deal worked out with the dealer 3 days later. It’s sitting in my driveway right now… Best part it was at MSRP.

How do I read this? Is there a site to look up each VIN to see what exactly it is? And also to know what dealer has it? Thanks.

 

Dooz, you can filter the columns near the top (in the blank space). Google the VINs and that will usually pop up the dealer with the inventory (actual or anticipated). From there I've just been reaching out to dealers per wee's suggestion (thank you, wee!).

 

You are likely a victim of Gulf States regional foolery. Move your search to a Toyota run region.
