I know that feeling. My stepfather went into the hospital a week before Christmas about 12 years ago. Within a day he was in a coma. He held on until the 27th. I know in my heart that somehow he knew what day it was and wasn't going to make anyone associate Christmas with the day of his passing.

Yup, you can't win against the ice. Even with studded snows on a Suby, you still can't win. My area is under a storm watch, calling for up to 1/2" of the icy stuff by the morning.

That's a great looking cabin! Could you take a few pics around the outside, if you get a chance? Enjoy the time together.

A little of this and a little of that.
    Good evening

Dealt with the banks, credit union, and the dreaded DMV today. Actually hasn’t been too bad, all things considered.

Thank you Doug. Yes sir, no lingering illness or machines/tubes.

    Fantastic picture! Beautiful Baby girl.

    Thank you Rusty.

Oh crap I’m starting that way tomorrow I was informed be out of Vermont before Friday. They are expecting a potentially bad snow storm starting sometime Friday.

:hattip:Evening folks, winter is starting to set in, which changes the pattern of the deer population in the morning. The AM commute is getting a little sporty the last of couple of weeks.

We have clothes for 3 more days so I may ease out of Vermont tomorrow and not try to bite off too much and just go as far as the weather allows. But the people up here aren’t talking inches I keep hearing feet.

I would like to have the 4Runner instead of this van though. But Vermont has not disappointed I hate to leave. B9FB93FD-C8EA-42D4-B14D-027267A60A5A.jpg

that was one of the worst things about where i lived in AK....we would lose power a few times every winter and it would be off for 12+ hours. i may have resorted to melting snow on the (gas) stove a time or two.

the big storm finally hit here - we've been under a winter storm warning since monday but only got maybe 1/2" yesterday. got about 3" so far this afternoon and still coming down. so far its justt the light fluffy stuff so not a problem to clear but we'll see what i end up with come morning.
