I'm kinda new to TW (been lurking before creating an account), so this might have been discussed before. Sorry if that is the case.

It would be very handy to have a search function for photos uploaded to the site that leveraged tags added by the uploaders. Users would have the option to add as many details about their truck photos as they care to, using drop-down menus rather than text boxes (to avoid spelling inconsistencies). That way, if a user wanted to see what a certain tire size would look like, on a DCLB with a particular height lift, with hubs of a certain size, he/she might just be able to find a photo of that specific search.

The options would be almost limitless, so the work involved in offering such a search, I realize, is epic. Would be awesome, though!

    Thanks for your time! Cheers!

Good suggestion. Might be able to automatically tag the simple stuff (color, DC, etc) with AI. The finer points like tire/wheel size would need to be manually added by the user

I thought about it when I realized that, before I made any decisions about how much to lift the truck, I wanted to know what it would look like, especially with specific tire & wheel sizes. I'll own up to it: what it looks like is important to me.

The descriptions in the posts that go along with the photos might also be a good way to AI mine the tag data for photos already on the site. Users could then be given the option to edit those old photo tags. With enough results, the user could also filter the bad results visually just form seeing the majority of the search results. Seems workable.

I would totally abuse the tag system. All of my photos would be tagged "goblin farts", "I like chocolate cake," and "ShouldhaveboughtaRidgeline."

Good idea, I always have a hard time digging through my old photos when a relevant conversation pops up.

We could compromise, and add a drop-down menu for 'custom' tags, but "goblin farts" would be the only option.

I still think it would be cool if you could isolate the images from a thread. Instead of searching pages and pages for images, you could click a button that shows all of the images, gifs, docs, etc that have been uploaded to that thread.

Similar to how you can view the "shared attachments" in your text strings.
