    We took our time and beat around Vermont some. Then hauled tail down to Hershey area for the night. It snowed some in NY on the way here then turned to rain the roads were good the whole way. Not sure what we are doing tomorrow we might do a short drive to Virginia and look around some. Shenandoah is on my short list of camping trips for this coming year and there is a delayed harvest stream that requires a hike I haven’t checked out yet. We might take till Saturday to get home.

    no army/navy stores here anymore. and i know what bunny boots are - pretty popular in AK. not quite what i need.
    i have a pair of Baffin boots as a back up but they're 800 gram insulation. feet will be sweating in any weather over -20* :laugh: got those in AK, hardly wear them anymore.
    these were 200 gram insulation from the north face. they were comfy for most things and were my go to for shoveling. my main concern is that they are also my snowshoeing boots. for that i need a couple of key features that i'm not finding on 99.9% of current offerings. one there's a little lip on the back heel that helps to keep the snowshoe binding in place, and two there's a small d ring at the base of the laces that holds on to my gaiters to keep snow from clumping up inside the boots and crusting over the laces. i guess women's boots are only made for looking pretty, not being useful :rolleyes:
    found a couple of things from columbia that look promising but north face doesn't have anything like these anymore. the footbeds were actually pretty comfy too and that's rare for me to find.
