    Greetings.

We have a 2001 V6 3.4 4WD. The rear drive shaft needed a new center bearing so I brought it into the local drive shaft shop. I've got it back and its not long enough. Before I call these guys I want to make sure I'm not missing something. Should I be taping on the end of this to extend it?

    Thanks in advance,
    Louis

    Don't understand.

How can a carrier bearing repair cause one to wind up with a shorter shaft?

He got shafted by the drive shaft shop! :D

Ask them to lift it, the flex should re-adjust it. But…

Spline shaft goes in too far leaving it about 1 1/2" short.

Tapping the end of it worked.

    Thank you!

Guessing the yoke was just retracted. You can pull on it and get another foot out of the driveshaft nearly.
