Why does this seat suck so bad?

Seat Jackers helped me a bit. Still thinking about going to an automotive upholsterer and having them carve out some foam and add slightly cushier foam or something. Cause yeah, the seats suck for anything over a couple hour drive.

I was also thinking about doing this but I was going to try a motorcycle seat gel pad as its thinner than foam. My thought was it would slide into the sides better and still be comfy. It is more expensive than foam.

This is what I'm talking about.

I'm not sure if it's been mentioned already because I didn't read all 7 pages of this thread, but if the seat jackers don't do it for you try going to your local auto upholstery shop. They can reshape the seat to fit you better and make you more comfortable.

I gotta rake leaves this weekend :annoyed: but somewhere between that and beer drinking I might try boosting the driver's.

Don't mind me asking WTF did you guys not try these truck seats out before you bought them. I love my seats and see no issues with them being too high or too low and I am 5'9. just saying.

its pretty hard to gauge a seat on a test ride, most members here complain about long rides (2+ hrs), and also most are 6' or taller and complain about under leg support

These new Tacos seem to be flawed a lot as there are so many here that complain about every little thing about them. I have had 5 tacos over the years and man I have no complaints that are worth mentioning. I love my new 2021 Sport the only complaint I have is Winter that if you do not get the snow off the scoop it stays for a long time till it melts off. I am too lazy to push the snow off the hood.

I think a lot of people misinterpret the level of "complaint."

I'm not screaming into the wind every time I jump into the truck "damn these seats! This otherwise nice truck is rendered completely useless from this one flaw!! If only Toyota could design a better shape to fit the subtle contours of my ass! O the places I would drive, if it weren't for this internal seat!"

No. Just like every other stupid thing I've done to this truck, it was born out of endless tinkering. "Seats are ok I guess, but can they be better? Let me grab my tools and goof around. "

This is after all a site devoted to endless tinkering. People gotta be messing with everything. It's not because we hate our trucks. It's the opposite. Our trucks are our hobby.

    That's why.

6' 2" with over 500,000 miles behind the wheel of a Tacoma; nothing higher trim than SR5. Different strokes for different folks I guess.

I’m so thankful the 2023 came with adjustable driver seat. Way better than my 2019

It's ok to complain about seat comfort when you've had multiple back injuries/factures...like me.

I've had the Desert Does It Seat Jackers in for around 8 months now and gone on a few long road trips but honestly haven't noticed any improvement in overall comfort. I didn't really think the seat comfort was poor before, but did feel like having the seat angle modified by the Jackers would be more comfortable. Hasn't really turned out that way. And the one down side I have noticed is the reduced entry height getting into the seat. Not a huge problem as I'm 5'10" but something I did notice. I'm planning on removing the seat jackers.
