Hello all, Some time back in a thread far far away one of you mentioned the type of Factory OEM Alarm System my truck had. From what I remember, it was when we were talking about keys and the chips that were in them.

Non the less, what I am enquiring about is the Factory Alarm that was installed by the dealer in 2012ish Tacomas. It even looks like it has been added as there is a cheep looking Red Indicator light lower left of the dash in the blank switches are that blinks etc. to communicate whatever it is communicating about what is occurring in the system.

The question is, does anyone know what this system is officially called and where reference can be found regarding its operation?

No, the button is Red. I did find out that it is pressable yesterday. I don't know what it is doing when I press it, but it is pressable.

Anybody know about the alarm function of the rs3200? I found the unit on my truck, ordered a remote and finally got one that programmed to the unit so the remote will lock and unlock the doors, chirp the buzzer and flash all the lights. But ive tested and it does not trigger any alarm when locked and door opened or anything.. i dont have the little glass break sensor or the blinky led light inside anywhere. Is that part needed to use the alarm function or is there another box to the system other than the one in the drivers kick panel?? The glass break sensor is just a mic and a led so wouldnt think itd be needed to set off the alarm.. i have noticed however when locking the doors it chirps two short beeps and unlocking it chirps 4 short beeps, the manual says chirps once for lock and twice for unlock.. but nowhere does it have any info about my issue.. got the truck used but had no key fob with it and had the vip owners guide in the glovebox.. which is why i looked for it and found the box to use .. but cant get the alarm function ….
