In other news, since y'all are talking about ATF wait times. My paper form 4 trust was approved and overall time from "check cashed" to "stamp in hand" was 370 days.

Need a sight for my carry handle AR. I was looking at the Primary Arms 5x prism but it requires and additional adapter for the carry handle. Might not be that big of a deal but trying to make the sight as low as possible. There's always the ACOG but don't want to spend ACOG money for a rifle I bought "just because". I want a 4x or 5x fixed prism type scope that's at least decent quality. Any ideas?
I know there's a sub $100 Colt 4x replica on Amazon but not interested in that. Nor the $250 Brownell version of the same thing.

How do you all store your home defense handgun? Bedside table in holster? Easy accessible handgun case? In your safe? Trying to gauge what is reasonable and those more experienced than I usually do. Granted I do not have kids, just a couple dogs and myself. If you also are feeling keen on more advice.. do you transport in a mounted holster in your truck? Some type of lock box secured to your truck? Or are you a open-carry/CCW, always attached to you when driving kind of guy? I appreciate the input from those willing to offer as I want to educate myself further in every area I can. Cheers!

One sleeps next to me in bed. Others laying around on tables, easy access when in need. :cookiemonster: easy access is my moto, I don't have time to run to the safe, or open a table, go to the secret hiding place, when they come, they come... stay safe

Depends on where you live and what you have. Best bet is probably one of those quick biometric or combo safes secured to the bedside table.

I do have kids, so my situation is different than yours.

I have a Burris AR332 on one my guns which is a 3x and I am pretty happy with it for a relatively budget prism. They also make the AR536 which is a 5x prism and I do believe that they are both able to mount to a carry handle without any adapters.

I keep the suppressed SBR leaning up in the corner 1’ past my nightstand, carry pistol is on the nightstand but is second choice.

Would be cool if someone made a 12 long gun case with protrusion on side to act as place to sit phone, alarm clock etc and use in place of a night stand. Programmable lock to open at bed time and close shortly after waking up in morning, so all have to do is swing door open in case of need. Something along these lines.

You're going to get a lot of varying responses depending on where people live (subdivision vs rural), what their family looks like (kids vs no kids), and how the house is laid out. When it was just us in an apartment I kept a 12 ga with buckshot that I could lob down the long hallway that stretched from the bedroom door to the front door. I eventually switched to a suppressed G21 because it occurred to me that if I ever shot that 12 ga in the hallway without ear pro my hearing would never be the same.

In our house, before we had a kid I kept a suppressed AR-9 with 147 gr JHP leaned up against my nightstand. Now I have a small locking safe (key because I don't trust electronic) on my bedside table with a G19 and spare mag. Once we get out of a neighborhood I'll probably continue the G19 in a small safe until the kiddo is older then either go back to the AR-9 or switch to my patrol-style AR with frangible rounds.

I like to keep mine on me and try to never leave a gun in an unattended vehicle but I keep small locking safes with a cable wrapped around the seat mount in our two main vehicles just in case. I also try to avoid going anywhere that I can't legally carry but sometimes I don't have a choice.

Finally got around to a full cleaning. After 2K+ rounds through each.

Those Dollar Store disposable bread bans are great for spraying/soaking all the small parts
