Hey guys quick question. Dos anyone have any experience with the Tama Thermostat for the 2nd gen 4.0 ? Or is the OEM from the dealer a better T state ?

OEM on these trucks is almost always a better part unless you have a specific identified need.

Kuzeh and Tama are both OEM suppliers to lots of Japanese vehicles. Either brand is fine. It's pretty hard to mess up a thermostat these days, even a Murray from OReilly would be ok

Sounds good . Thanks for the input guys ! I had a shop do the cooling system on my truck do to not having the time . I had them do uper and lower hoses , thermostat, radiator cap and coolant . I asked for OEM parts and thought that's what I got and then after some time I noticed that the thermostat was labeled Tama . Needless to say I was not a happy camper . I will be calling them on Monday for an explanation. I just not sure if I should leave the thermostat or change it for the OEM Toyota one . Sorry for the long thread.

If you want you can buy Aisin thermostat on rockauto which is the same OEM manufacturer for the Tacoma thermostat. You can also buy the Toyota brand on rockauto as well.

Well after looking up the Aisin on rock auto it turns out that they are made by Tama . I was able to blow up the picture and it has the same Tama sticker on it as my has . Go figure. I am getting quite the education.

Toyota doesn't make their own thermostats ;)

They let another company handle it

Just want to thank everyone once again ! Very informative and I got quite the education. I feel better about the part that is in my truck . I am one of those anal kind of guys that have always used and want OEM parts in my Toyotas .
