    3" suspension lift - 17" rims
I'm a chick; I have no specific knowledge of what I did to my 2012 tacoma truck BUT had a professional company add a 3" suspension lift and I threw some 17" rims and tires on it, and some factory toyota running boards that do a hell of a job blocking rocks from coming off the tire tread. I don't go off-roading; it's all for looks, but I like the thought that I CAN go over any hill and away from a traffic jam.
Anyway, coming in a little too hot on a left turn corner and my right front brake chattered/acted like it was locking up. I pulled over to clear the wetness from my pants and check the wheel, rotar, caliper, etc and didn't see anything wrong. Went back to company and they said I needed to get my "YAW" recalibrated. I asked wth a yaw was and he said it was something to do with the central stabilizer sensor. I never got it recalibrated, I just changed my way of driving. I see on this forum, you can short out the system to "recalibrate" it. I'm not shorting anything out on my truck. I'd rather have a technician tell my yaw I'm 3" higher than before.Every now and then it will lock up on me if I'm coming in too hot; it's a nice reminder to slow down.
SO, my question is, it's ok if I don't recalibrate and just be mindful when driving, yes? Or will it kill my right front caliper to sporadically chatter? I don't see any unusual wear on the rotar from it, but it does scare the living bajesus out of me when it happens. My husband is an engineer; knows nothing about trucks, lifts, etc, and complains all the time that the truck was not designed for what I've done to it. Boy is she pretty... I tuned him out!
Thanks and happy holidays to all the tacos out there.

Yes, this. Read through the process a couple of times so you understand it and give it a shot. I had the exact same problem after installing a lift and did the VSC calibration. Problem solved.
It did take me a couple of shots to get it, but it's not that difficult.... and I'm an engineer too...
