I get what the op was saying, at least in part. I looked around for a new emblem since mine was getting a little corroded on the chrome. Found nothing aftermarket wise and figured it's copyright related as already mentioned here. Ended up just cleaning it up and living with it.

As far as millennial or tool bag comments, no one on the internet is really keeping score. It's Christmas fellas, don't let your pride get the best of you on such trivial stuff.

I need to laugh this was cute!

My post was #2 I stated there is no market or some one would be making them

Good side business for the OP .

So very true in my case .

It cost me $150,000.00 to ransom them back.

Honestly, that's even worse than what I was initially envisioning. At least with small lettering placed within the oval, it would at least look like the oval cutout is there for a reason.

You seem to just want to slap some lettering over the top of that. What's your plan to hold it in place? Zip-ties? Duct tape? Or do you just not really care that it's more than likely going to look like a 5 year did it?

I stand by my statement about you seeming to want something that no one else apparently thinks will sell.

Maybe I'm wrong, maybe you have stumbled upon a great side business and you're about to make a million bucks. For something that "isn't so hard" you should easily be able to rake in enough money to pay off your mortgage.

    Good luck.

@ OP. There are a multitude of ways to approach an issue. In the future rather than storm into a community and demand custom products that should be easy to make and ask why people don't have it together, maybe try phrasing the post along these lines: "I like the front grilles on the 3rd gen Tacoma- has anyone made a custom grille or modified theirs to look like that?" Note how I didn't insult anyone.

If you had done that, someone might have linked you to this post in the BST section, which is almost exactly what you're looking for:
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/fs-2001-2004-tacoma-mesh-grille.775038/#post-27699218

But in general 1st gen truck parts are becoming more rare, and as increasingly more parts are discontinued, you won't find people modifying things they can't replace.

Home Depot and Lowes sells extra large letters for address and street name. Maybe OP can use commercial 3m double side tape.
    Just saying. :boom:

My buddies (yes, I said buddies and not buddy) is still paying for spouse support. Think twice before you decide to put a ring on it, lol. Especially if you make more than an average Joe Blow will make in their life time.

Geez. Still have one of these sitting in a box collecting dust. Picked it up from @SJTaco4x4 back in 2019 lol
Not going to install it, for now it just sits and waits.
