    That is strange .

Puberty was so very long ago I don`t recall going through a problem like that.

I wonder has his hand strength and reflexes improved to the point his muscle memory is no longer the same as before?

Have you asked him what is different?

I've ask him why he's not squeezing like he used too and he says he doesn't know. Maybe it's from not practicing enough, I don't know.

Me either. They have been "encouraging and threatening for years", asking me to fill out the necessary information and then telling me if I don't they will not let me use PayPal. I have not given them info and they have not suspended my account. Have you already provided them with the information they want?

Beat to the punch, light refracting off the lens...as mentioned.

I play the best golf when I haven't played in a long time and my expectations are low. I am relaxed and do better....until I know I have done well and EXPECT I will do well, then I am not relaxed and I try too hard.

My full time job is working in a municipal Parks & Recreation Department where I have run programs for the last 30+ years. I could be a sports psychologist!

I would start by asking him what is going on? There are lots of reasons why someone can be amped up and most would have nothing to do with shooting. Teaching a simple breathing technique can work wonders to calm the mind and then calm the body. Cue the sports analogies. Most highly successful baseball batters have a routine they go through to prepare them to hit. I have no experience shooting but you could probably help him develop a routine that will put his mind in the right place to shoot. I often use a MLB batter as an example to kids that in sports often the highest paid and best players get paid a lot of money and fail quite often. Look at how much baseball batters get paid and the best ones fail more than 7 out of ten times. I have worked with kids often on their basketball shooting form. I would equate shooting a rifle to shooting a foul shot. I encourage a specific routine each time they step to the line. Relax the mind, relax the body, eliminate any extra BS in the process and set yourself up for maximum success.

Edit: I should add that I also am a firm believer in letting kids know that it is not only OK to fail but that I expect that they will and that often more can be learned from failure than from success. Sometimes you can try your best and not get the results you want. Your success should be measured in your efforts, rather than your results as only YOU can control your effort whereas there can be MANY factors that will affect success, most of them are often out of your control.

This I can agree with Though we might have a few other items mixed in.

In archery it's called target panic, the same probably applies to guns as well. Give it a google and see what you come up with. I've had it, it sucks. :anonymous:

Not the same thing...target panic applies to any target; paper, live animals...whatever
