    Well this was interesting.

My neighbor and his wife down the road have 3 kids. 2 boys 16 and 14 and a daughter about 9.

After all the slop we received last Thursday and Friday the 16y/o went snowboarding and the 14 apparently played video games.

He's a union carpenter and the local fire chief. So on Saturday he stopped, we chatted then he said can you meet me at the fire house. Sure no problem.

I see him go up the hill the suv that the boys take to school.

At the fire house he pulls the fire truck out, pulls the SUV in, puts the fire truck back in...blocking the SUV in the building.

He comes out and I take him back down the hill.

He told me that if they don't shovel they'll take the bus to school. (which I think will kill the 16y/o):)

I told him that I hope they get the message.

I’ve got a Sony TV, Sony Blue Ray, Arc Soundbar & Sub. All talk to each other & my iPhone with WIFI, so there’s some degree of mixed signals going back and forth when I turn it off at bedtime, maybe 30 seconds later, the soundbar erupts with an explosion of sound for a fraction of a second, just enough to make you jump out of your skin. Keeps life interesting!

LOL! I can do without surprise noises! I thought giving the Spectrum remote a bogus code would remove the amp, but NO! You must RESET everything, which means even learning the cable box. I had a couple days of patience left for that one!

I got a Predator 9000 from Harbor Freight last year on sale for about 30% off. And they threw in my wheel kit. And a membership - which I need to renew I guess...
Looking at that GenaLink thing, and the meters you have, I would guess I could run most everything - if I judiciously keep a few things off.

Oh yea. We don’t run the stove but everything else. We use the grill or a hot plate. I don’t worry about what lights are on cause I have enough wattage. Runs my garage fridge and doors also

Gas heat, stove, and water heater. Most light LEDs. I really believe that this all might work - if I can get the approval and parts! I have wasted so much time trying to get something bigger, and no one wants to come here and do it. Granted, our city permits are a pain, but you'd think we're in the middle of nowhere. Not 30 miles out of Austin. We had power all during the big snowmageddon 2 years back, so if I have to run out and start the gennie once a year, I think I can do that.
EDIT - the longest power outages I can remember for wrecks or storms has been a couple hours.

The predator 9000 is not listed as compatible with it but the 8750 is. I just don’t think the list has been updated. Texas allows the genlink but the local electric co. may not do you would have to call them and ask

It actually is - but as the MODEL number (63970), which I had to go grab off a tag I left attached. 7250 Running Watts.
I sent an inquiry off the GenLink with my utility. All the "buy" links are out of stock, so they have all the info. When I hear back, I will let Shane at the City know. MFG says many cities like to install them themselves, because it's at the meter. Be fine with me if they do!

found it online searching stuff, May 2022 list. Can't wait to hear back from the vendor - then I'll holler at city. If this works, that's a WHOLE lot less than a "full bore overkill" system.

I mean, honest! 10KW worth of gas generator, or battery backup with more solar cells would have set me back easily $15-20K. And those yokels would not return a call or email when it came to quoting, much less discussing putting such a system in. I'll save my retirement money.

My entire system was about $800.00 ($880.00 now since the watt meter and power alarm)
It’s bare bones manual everything but, I have power..

Yeah, I'll spend a little more than that, if this works. But folks ignoring me when they could pocket $5 or $10K really irks me.
